Core responsibilities
Installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery (generators, motors, switchgear, transformers, lighting, control systems)
Fault-finding and troubleshooting electrical faults, often under time pressure since downtime on a platform is costly
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
Working with high and low voltage systems, including switching operations
Ensuring compliance with hazardous area (Ex/ATEX) regulations, since offshore facilities often have explosive gas zones.
