Core Responsibilities
Inspecting products/materials — checking raw materials, in-process items, or finished goods against specifications, blueprints, or quality standards
Using measuring tools — calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, and sometimes specialized equipment (CMMs, spectrometers) to verify dimensions, weight, or composition
Testing — performing functional tests, stress tests, or sampling to confirm items work and hold up as intended
Documenting results — recording inspection data, pass/fail outcomes, and defect details in logs or quality management systems.
