Typical responsibilities / duties
Safely operate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, motor graders, rollers, skid steers, and cranes (as assigned).
Read and follow work orders, site plans, grade stakes, and blueprints.
Perform pre-shift inspections (fluid levels, lights, tracks/tires, controls) and routine maintenance (lubrication, filter checks) and log findings.
Position and align equipment, grade and level surfaces, dig trenches, load trucks, spread material, and compact soil/aggregate.
Use hand signals and radios to coordinate with spotters and ground personnel.
Ensure secure loading/unloading and transport of equipment when required.
