Main Responsibilities:
Inspect the crane, hydraulic systems, cables, hooks, brakes, load moment indicators, and site conditions (e.g., ground stability) before operation.
Set up the crane, including outriggers or cribbing for stability.
Read and apply load charts, lift plans, and weight limits to avoid overloading.
Operate controls (levers, pedals, dials) to lift, swing, lower, and precisely place loads.
Coordinate closely with ground crews, signal persons (banksmen), or riggers using hand signals, radios, or other communication.
Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, minor repairs, and report defects.
