Core Responsibilities:

Examine teeth, gums, and mouth to diagnose oral health issues
Take and interpret X-rays and other diagnostic images
Perform procedures: fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, bridges
Clean teeth and provide preventive care (though hygienists often handle routine cleanings)
Prescribe medications (antibiotics, pain relief)
Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, and preventive care
Refer patients to specialists (orthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons) when needed
Maintain patient records and treatment plans.
