Core responsibilities:
Operating machinery to move earth, materials, or debris
Reading blueprints, grade stakes, or site plans to know depth/direction
Performing pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, tire/track condition)
Coordinating with ground crew using hand signals or radios
Following site safety protocols (traffic control, trench safety, overhead hazards)
Loading/unloading materials onto trucks
Site prep — clearing land, digging foundations, grading roads.
