Rigger

Inspect equipment — check slings, chains, shackles, hooks, wire rope, and other rigging hardware for wear, damage, or defects before use
Select rigging gear — choose the right slings, chains, hoists, and hardware based on the load’s weight, size, and shape
Attach and secure loads — connect rigging equipment to loads to ensure safe, balanced lifts
Calculate load weights and angles — determine center of gravity, sling angles, and load capacity to avoid overloading equipment
Direct crane/hoist operators — use hand signals, radios, or other communication to guide safe lifting and placement
Set up rigging systems — including blocking, cribbing, and outriggers for stability.
