Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations (interviews, medical histories, mental status exams, and psychological testing).
Diagnose conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, substance use disorders, and personality disorders (using frameworks like the DSM-5-TR).
Develop individualized treatment plans that may combine psychotherapy (e.g., CBT, psychodynamic, supportive), medication (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, etc.), and other interventions.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor effectiveness and side effects, and adjust dosages.
