Inspect the crane before each shift (cables, hooks, brakes, hydraulics, controls)
Read load charts to determine safe lifting capacity for a given boom angle/radius
Communicate with signal persons, riggers, and ground crew (hand signals or radio)
Operate controls to lift, swing, and lower loads precisely
Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues
Follow site safety plans and OSHA (or local) regulations
Keep logs of loads lifted, hours operated, and inspections.
