Order preparation: Pull, pack, and label items for shipment based on orders or packing slips
Documentation: Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork (for international shipments)
Verification: Check outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy in quantity, product, and destination
Carrier coordination: Schedule pickups with carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight lines, etc.) and select appropriate shipping methods based on cost, speed, and destination
Inventory tracking: Update inventory records/systems when items ship out; may also receive and log incoming shipments
Packaging: Select appropriate boxes, pallets, or crates and ensure items are packed securely to prevent damage.
