Core responsibilities:
Operate mobile, tower, or overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials, equipment, or structural components at construction sites, ports, factories, or warehouses
Inspect the crane before and after each shift — checking cables, hooks, brakes, and hydraulic systems for wear or damage
Read load charts to determine safe lifting capacities based on boom angle, radius, and load weight
Set up and rig loads correctly, often working with a signal person or rigger
Communicate with ground crew using hand signals or radio
Follow site safety protocols and maintain clear visibility/awareness of surroundings
Keep maintenance logs and report mechanical issues.
