Main Duties and Responsibilities
Performing pre-operation inspections (fluid levels, tracks/tires, hydraulic lines, bucket teeth, controls, and safety systems) and post-operation checks.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, site plans, grade stakes, GPS machine control systems, and verbal instructions from supervisors.
Operating the excavator to dig foundations, trenches, ponds, and subgrade; grade and slope areas; load trucks or haulers; and move soil, rock, debris, or other materials.
Fitting and using attachments such as buckets, hydraulic hammers, augers, grapples, or compaction wheels.
Loading/unloading materials efficiently while staying within weight limits and coordinating with truck drivers or other equipment operators.
