Key Responsibilities and Duties
Conducting regular safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate hazards.
Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Designing and delivering safety training and orientations for employees, supervisors, and contractors (topics often include hazard communication, PPE use, emergency response, lockout/tagout, etc.).
Monitoring and reporting safety performance metrics (injury rates, near-misses, workers’ compensation claims, compliance data).
Ensuring proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
