Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Drive, maneuver, or control equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, scrapers, front-end loaders, backhoes, compactors, and sometimes cranes or pile drivers.
Move earth, gravel, rock, demolition debris, or other materials; dig trenches; level and grade surfaces; clear land; and prepare job sites according to plans.
Read and interpret blueprints, grading plans, cut-fill diagrams, grade stakes, and construction drawings; use GPS grade-control systems or laser levels for precision work.
Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections, basic maintenance (lubrication, fluid checks, cleaning), and report major issues.
