Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operate the draw-works, rotary table/top drive, pumps, and controls (brakes, throttles, clutches) from the driller’s console; control weight-on-bit, rotary speed, and mud circulation.
Direct and supervise the rig crew during connections, trips, pipe handling, and related floor operations; train crew members and enforce safe work practices.
Monitor gauges, instruments, and parameters (pressure, mud weight/flow, torque, gas levels, rate of penetration) and adjust operations accordingly; detect and respond to problems such as kicks, stuck pipe, or equipment issues.
