Core Responsibilities:
Setting up, operating, and maintaining drilling rigs and related machinery
Selecting and changing drill bits based on subsurface conditions
Monitoring drilling parameters (pressure, depth, rotation speed, fluid flow)
Managing drilling fluids (“mud”) to control pressure and cool equipment
Interpreting geological data to adjust drilling technique
Directing and supervising a drill crew (roughnecks, derrickhands, etc.)
Ensuring well control and preventing blowouts (in oil/gas)
