Core Responsibilities:
Design well plans: casing programs, drilling fluid (mud) programs, bit selection, and wellbore trajectory
Calculate drilling parameters — pressure, torque, hydraulics, hole stability
Select and specify drilling equipment (rigs, BOPs, tools)
Estimate costs and prepare AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure)
Monitor drilling operations in real time (often via remote ops centers or on-site)
Troubleshoot problems: stuck pipe, kicks, lost circulation, wellbore instability
Coordinate with geologists, drilling contractors, and service companies.
