Dentist

Core responsibilities:

Examine patients’ teeth, gums and mouths; take and interpret X‑rays and other diagnostic tests.
Diagnose oral diseases (e.g., cavities, periodontal disease, oral cancer) and develop treatment plans.
Perform restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, bridges), extractions, root canals, and minor oral surgery where permitted.
Provide preventive care: cleanings (if dental hygienist not available), fluoride treatments, sealants, patient education on oral hygiene.
Prescribe medications (antibiotics, analgesics) and manage post‑op care.
Maintain clinical records, infection control and sterilization, and comply with regulatory and insurance documentation.
Coordinate care or refer to dental specialists (orthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons) as needed.

Qualification & requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent,

Clinical skills: diagnostics, restorative techniques, minor surgery, radiography interpretation.
Fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination.
Communication and patient counseling (explaining procedures, managing anxiety).
Attention to detail, infection-control mindset, ethical decision-making.
Business/management skills for practice owners (staffing, finance, compliance).
