Laundry Attendant

Key responsibilities / duties

Receive and sort incoming laundry by type, colour, soil level, and care instructions.
Operate washers, dryers, ironers, steamers, pressing machines, and folding equipment according to procedures.
Select appropriate wash cycles, detergent, and water temperature for fabric type and soil level.
Inspect items for stains, damage, and repairs; pre-treat stains and perform minor mending (sewing, replacing buttons) or tag items needing repair.
Fold, iron/press, and package linens and garments to presentation standards.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, lost/damaged items, and special handling requests.
Load and unload machines; move carts of laundry to/from production and storage areas.

Required skills & attributes; 

Basic machine operation and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read garment care labels and follow handling instructions.
Attention to detail (stain removal, folding, presentation).
Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic recordkeeping and communication skills.
