Safety Manager

Core responsibilities:

Plan and lead workplace inspections, risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and hazard identification.
Investigate incidents, near-misses and root causes; lead corrective actions and share lessons learned.
Design, deliver and track safety training and toolbox talks for employees, supervisors and contractors.
Manage contractor safety prequalification and on-site contractor monitoring.
Coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans, drills and exercises.
Lead or support safety committees and worker engagement programs (behavioural safety, safety champions).
Conduct internal audits, third-party audits, and follow up on audit findings until closure.

Required qualifications and skills

High school Diploma or equivalent,  Strong leadership and influence; able to engage frontline staff and senior leaders.
Excellent written and verbal communication and training skills.
Analytical skills and comfort with safety data and dashboards.
Project management and audit skills.
