Job summary: Oversees daily lab operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant functioning. They manage staff, maintain equipment and supplies, enforce quality and safety systems, coordinate work schedules and budgets, and support scientific/diagnostic activities to meet project and regulatory goals also ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and instruments.
Maintain inventory of reagents, consumables, and spare parts; place orders and control costs.
Essential qualifications & skills
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (biology, chemistry, clinical laboratory science, biomedical engineering).
Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation (PCR, HPLC, spectrophotometers, cell culture equipment, depending on lab).
Competence with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and basic data handling.
Understanding of quality control, validation, method development, and troubleshooting.
