Welder

Typical responsibilities:  

Set up and operate welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, and related tools.
Fit, tack, and weld parts to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Perform weld inspection (visual and basic NDT: dye-penetrant, magnetic particle) and repair defects.
Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, levels) to verify fit and alignment.
Maintain welding equipment and keep work area clean and organized.
Follow safety procedures: PPE, hot-work permits, ventilation, and lockout/tagout as required.
Report defects or issues to supervisor and document work performed.

Required skills / qualifications

Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
Strong manual dexterity, hand–eye coordination, and attention to detail.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Good knowledge of welding metallurgy and filler material selection (preferred for advanced roles).
