Driller

Key responsibilities:

Implement well control procedures and take immediate action on kicks or other well-control events.
Oversee rig maintenance: inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems; schedule preventative maintenance.
Manage drilling fluids/mud program in coordination with mud engineer; ensure proper solids control.
Enforce and participate in safety systems, toolbox talks, permit-to-work, incident reporting, and emergency response drills.
Coordinate with rig manager, toolpush, drilling superintendent, service companies (cementing, logging), and supply/logistics.
Maintain inventory of critical tools, spares, and PPE; ensure proper storage and condition.

Required skills and attributes

Leadership and crew-management ability; effective communicator.
Good situational awareness and decision-making under pressure.
Ability to read rig instruments, gauges, and simple engineering/drilling plans.
Physical stamina and ability to work in confined/outdoor/offshore environments.
Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
