Job summary:
Provide nursing care to infants, children and adolescents in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, or specialty pediatric settings. Deliver age-appropriate clinical assessment, medication administration, patient/family education, and coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to promote child health and safety.
Provide emotional support and communicate effectively with children and families.
Coordinate care with physicians, pediatric specialists, social workers, therapists, and case managers.
Maintain accurate, timely charting in the EHR and follow infection control and safety procedures.
Participate in code situations and emergency response as required (PALS/NRP roles as appropriate).
Contribute to quality improvement, unit-based initiatives, and continuing education.
Required qualifications & Core skills
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN, Pediatric assessment and age-specific communication (neonates through adolescents).
Weight-based medication calculations and pediatric dosing safety.
IV/line/catheter skills and basic procedure assistance.
Family-centered care and teaching skills.
Triage and prioritization, quick clinical decision-making.
Emotional resilience, empathy, cultural competence.
