Psychiatrist

Core responsibilities:

Conduct psychiatric assessments (history, mental status exam, risk assessment).
Formulate diagnoses and evidence‑based treatment plans.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications; monitor side effects and interactions.
Provide psychotherapy (when credentialed) or coordinate psychotherapy referrals.
Manage psychiatric emergencies, suicidality, violence risk, and substance-related crises.
Coordinate care with primary care, therapists, social workers, and community agencies.
Document clinical encounters, treatment plans, informed consent, and medication changes.

Key skills & Qualification:  Medical degree (MD or DO, or equivalent,  Interpersonal: empathy, clear communication with patients/families, teamwork.
Cognitive: differential diagnosis, risk assessment, evidence-based decision making.
Practical: documentation, time management, familiarity with EMRs and billing/coding.
Cultural competence and trauma-informed care.
