Primary responsibilities
Install, wire and connect electrical equipment: motors, switchgear, control panels, starters, VFDs, transformers, conduit and cable trays.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults using schematic diagrams, multimeters, insulation meters, clamp meters, and oscilloscopes.
Perform preventive maintenance: test insulation resistance, tighten connections, replace worn components, test protection devices.
Maintain and repair control systems: ladder logic, PLC inputs/outputs, I/O modules, fieldbus networks (EtherNet/IP, Profibus).
Read and modify electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, PLC logic documents, and P&IDs.
Perform electrical testing and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
Typical qualifications & skills
High school diploma or equivalent; Strong knowledge of AC/DC theory, three-phase power, and electrical distribution.
Proficiency with motor control (starters, contactors, relays), PLCs (programming and troubleshooting), and VFDs.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic.
Test equipment: multimeter, megger (insulation resistance tester), clamp meter, phase rotation tester, oscilloscope, process calibrators.
