Industrial Mechanic

Core responsibilities:

Diagnose mechanical failures, disassemble/reassemble machinery, replace worn parts and re-align components to specs.
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals.
Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to check tolerances and runouts.
Service hydraulic and pneumatic systems (change seals, valves, cylinders; check pressures).
Maintain and repair boilers, HVAC and other auxiliary plant systems as required.
Perform basic electrical and controls work: trace wiring, replace sensors, work with starters, PLC inputs/outputs (often in coordination with electricians/controls techs).
Perform rigging, hoisting and safe machine moves; install new equipment and carry out equipment commissioning.
Keep accurate maintenance logs, repair records and parts inventory; recommend spare parts and improvements.

Required skills & qualifications includes:  Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Comfortable with hand and power tools, measuring instruments and portable machining tools.
Basic electrical/controls knowledge (motor starters, relays, sensors, PLC I/O).
Rigging and lifting experience; ability to use chain hoists, slings and cranes.
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, at heights and around rotating equipment.
