Core responsibilities:
Create and maintain accurate inspection records, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and material traceability documentation.
Use statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor processes and report trends (control charts, capability studies).
Isolate nonconforming product, tag and quarantine per procedures, and notify production/engineering/QA as appropriate.
Support root cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
Maintain inspection equipment calibration and gage R&R participation; escalate out-of-tolerance issues.
Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to production teams and supervisors; escalate safety or compliance issues.
Required qualifications & skills
High school diploma or equivalent; Proficient with hand and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges).
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and specifications.
Familiarity with SPC, basic statistics, and control charts.
Good documentation skills and attention to detail.
