Core Responsibilities:
Preventive maintenance – inspecting equipment on a set schedule to catch wear before it causes breakdowns
Troubleshooting & repair – diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and sometimes electrical faults in machines
Installation – setting up new machinery, aligning parts, calibrating equipment
Overhauls – disassembling equipment for major repairs or rebuilds (bearings, gearboxes, motors, pumps, conveyors)
Reading technical documents – blueprints, schematics, manufacturer manuals, wiring diagrams
Welding & fabrication – cutting, welding, or fabricating replacement parts when needed
Recordkeeping – logging repairs, parts used, and maintenance history (often in a CMMS system)
