Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues using instruments, X-rays, and other diagnostics to evaluate health, diagnose issues (e.g., cavities, gum disease, malformations, or oral abnormalities), and plan treatments.
Perform preventive care: cleanings, fluoride applications, sealants, and patient education on hygiene, diet, flossing, and oral-systemic health links.
Provide restorative and corrective treatments: remove decay and fill cavities; repair/remove damaged teeth; place crowns, bridges, veneers, or dentures; perform root canals (endodontics); treat gum disease (periodontics); extract teeth (including wisdom teeth); and handle minor oral surgery or implants.
Administer anesthetics/sedatives for pain control, prescribe medications (e.g., antibiotics), and manage patient anxiety.
