Core Responsibilities:
Structural analysis & design: Calculating loads (dead loads, live loads, wind, seismic, snow) and designing structural elements (beams, columns, foundations, slabs, trusses) to safely carry them
Material selection: Choosing appropriate materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry, composites) based on strength, cost, durability, and code requirements
Software modeling: Using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or Tekla Structures to model and simulate structural behavior
Code compliance: Ensuring designs meet local and international building codes (e.g., IBC, Eurocode, ASCE 7, local seismic codes)
Collaboration: Working closely with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout a project.
