Primary duties & responsibilities:
Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units using mortar, adhesives, and reinforcement.
Mix and apply mortar and other bonding compounds to the correct consistency and quantity.
Cut and shape masonry units to fit openings and details using hand and power tools.
Set up and level forms, scaffolding, and temporary supports; install reinforcement (rebar, mesh) as required.
Align and level masonry courses using levels, plumb lines, and measuring tools; maintain consistent joint width and finish.
Repair, repoint, and restore existing masonry, including cleaning and replacing damaged bricks or stone.
Coordinate with other trades (carpenters, concrete crews, foremen) to ensure schedule and quality.
Maintain site cleanliness, protect finished work, and dispose of waste materials properly.
