Crane Operator

Core responsibilities

Inspect crane and rigging equipment before each shift; report defects and perform basic maintenance (lubrication, checks).
Select, inspect, and rig loads using slings, shackles, spreader bars and other rigging gear.
Work with a designated signal person or use standard hand/radio signals to coordinate lifts.
Secure loads and place them precisely according to plans and instructions.
Follow site lift plans, confined-space and traffic control procedures.
Maintain lift logs, inspection records, and communications records.
Assist in site setup (crane assembly/disassembly, outrigger placement, blocking).
Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and incident investigations.

Required qualifications & skills

High school diploma or equivalent, Strong attention to safety and compliance.
Good communication and teamwork (works with riggers, signal person, supervisors).
Ability to read blueprints, lift plans and technical instructions.
Physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
