Welder

Core responsibilities:

Perform weld preparation: cleaning, grinding, beveling, preheat/post-heat as required.
Inspect welds visually and with basic NDT (dye penetrant, magnetic particle) or prepare for radiographic/UT inspection.
Repair defective welds and document rework.
Maintain welding equipment and perform basic preventive maintenance.
Follow work orders, meet production and quality targets, and record time/materials used.
Maintain PPE and follow all safety and hot-work permit procedures.

Required skills & attributes such as:  Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and basic shop math.
Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and spatial reasoning.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing welds that meet specifications.
Basic measurement skills (calipers, micrometers, tape, square) and familiarity with jigs/fixtures.
Reliability, teamwork, and ability to work under moderate pressure.
