Key responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems: conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, presses, fans, and material-handling equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance: lubrication, adjustments, alignments, calibration, and replacement of worn parts.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment; fabricate or machine parts when required (use of lathes, mills, grinders).
Install and align new equipment and machinery; rigging and moving equipment safely.
Required skills and competencies
Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, seals, couplings, belts, chains, and gear systems.
Basic welding, brazing, and fabrication skills often required.
Basic electrical knowledge (motors, starters, sensing devices) and comfort working with multidisciplinary teams.
