Core responsibilities:
Administer medications, IV fluids, and vaccines safely (weight- and age-based dosing).
Perform procedures appropriate to the setting (wound care, catheterization, nebulizer treatments, blood draws in some settings).
Monitor and respond to changes in condition; escalate to providers when indicated.
Provide family education (discharge teaching, medication administration, feeding, growth/development guidance).
Coordinate multidisciplinary care (physicians, social work, respiratory therapy, nutrition).
Maintain accurate charting and comply with safety/ infection-control protocols.
Qualification & skills; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing,
Clinical: Pediatric assessment, IV/line management, pediatric medication dosing, growth/development milestones, family education.
Soft skills: Compassion, patience, communication with children and families, cultural sensitivity, teamwork.
Technical: EHR documentation, basic lab interpretation, familiarity with pediatric equipment (infusion pumps, nebulizers, pediatric monitors).
