Core responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance (lubrication, seal replacement, alignment, vibration checks).
Diagnose failures and perform corrective repairs (impellers, shafts, bearings, mechanical seals, couplings).
Remove/reinstall pump drivers (electric motors, gearboxes, diesel engines) and align shafts/couplings.
Troubleshoot piping/valve/instrumentation issues that affect pump performance.
Perform vibration analysis, balance corrections and pump performance testing (flow/pressure).
Maintain maintenance records, parts inventory and service reports.
Required qualifications & skills
High school diploma or equivalent; Hands-on skill with mechanical seals, bearings, impellers, couplings.
Shaft alignment (laser/dial indicator).
Pump hydraulic theory (NPSH, cavitation, head/flow curves) and how system changes affect performance.
Vibration analysis and balancing basics.
Pump testing and commissioning (flow/pressure measurement).
Ability to use hand/power tools, hydraulic jacks, hoists, rigging gear.
