Key duties / responsibilities:
Install, assemble and replace pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures (toilets, sinks, water heaters, dishwashers, gas appliances).
Diagnose and repair leaks, clogs, broken fixtures, water heaters, boilers, and gas lines.
Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing schematics and building codes; plan pipe runs and system layouts.
Perform maintenance (flushing systems, testing backflow preventers, pressure tests) and preventative inspections.
Test systems for leaks and proper operation; ensure compliance with local plumbing and safety codes.
Core technical skills and Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Pipefitting: copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, cast iron.
Soldering, brazing, threading and using mechanical fittings.
Reading blueprints, plumbing codes (IPC/UPC or local codes).
Use of hand and power tools, pipe threaders, presses, camera inspection equipment.
Knowledge of water heater/furnace/gas appliance installation and venting rules.
