Rigger

Key responsibilities:

Plan, rig, and execute lifts according to lift plans and load sheets.
Select, inspect, and maintain rigging gear (slings, chains, wire rope, shackles, hooks, spreader bars).
Attach loads to cranes/hoists and signal crane operators (or act as signalperson) during lifts.
Set and adjust rigging arrangements to protect loads and structure (tag lines, chokes, lifting points).
Install and remove temporary lifting frames, spreader beams, and guying systems.
Perform pre-lift risk assessments and verify weight, center of gravity, and lift path.

Required skills & attributes includes: Practical knowledge of rigging hardware, sling types (nylon/web, chain, wire rope), hardware capacities, and hitch types.
Ability to read basic rigging diagrams, load charts, and lifting plans.
Strong understanding of load balance, center of gravity, and tag-line control.
Good verbal communication and ability to use standard hand/voice signals.
Physical strength, stamina, good balance, and comfort working at heights.
