Welder

Core duties and responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders.
Prepare materials (clean, fit-up, tack-weld) and set up welding equipment.
Perform welding using appropriate processes (MIG, TIG, SMAW/Stick, FCAW, submerged arc).
Weld joints to required specifications, producing sound, code-compliant welds.
Inspect welds visually and with basic NDT (dye penetrant, magnetic particle) or hand measurement; report defects.
Maintain and calibrate welding equipment; change tips, electrodes, shielding gas, etc.

Required skills includes:  Proficiency in one or more welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, flux-cored).
Blueprint and welding symbol literacy.
Knowledge of metallurgy basics and filler metal selection.
Ability to set welding parameters and read welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Manual dexterity and good hand–eye coordination.
Basic measuring and layout skills (tape, calipers, squares).
