Heavy Equipment Operator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive, maneuver, and control equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, scrapers, front-end loaders, backhoes, compactors/rollers, and sometimes cranes or pile drivers.
Excavate, dig trenches, grade surfaces, level land, clear sites, load materials into trucks, and prepare foundations or roadbeds according to plans and grade stakes.
Perform pre- and post-operation inspections, basic maintenance (lubricating, cleaning, fueling, minor repairs), and report mechanical issues.
Coordinate with ground crews using hand signals, radios, or audio cues; follow safety protocols; and read blueprints, grading plans, or cut-fill diagrams.
