Core Responsibilities:
Policy development — creating and updating workplace safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA in the US, or local equivalents)
Risk assessment — identifying hazards, conducting job safety analyses, and evaluating workplace risks
Compliance management — ensuring the organization meets all relevant safety regulations and industry standards; liaising with regulatory bodies during audits or inspections
Training — designing and delivering safety training programs (PPE use, emergency procedures, equipment handling, etc.) for employees and new hires
Incident investigation — leading investigations into accidents, near-misses, and injuries; determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
