Core responsibilities:
Operate and oversee washer/extractor, dryer, ironer, folder, and finishing equipment; ensure proper operation and load balancing.
Maintain inventory of linen, chemicals, detergents, parts, and supplies; reorder and control costs.
Implement and enforce safety, OSHA, MSDS/chemical handling, and infection‑control procedures (if applicable).
Perform quality control: inspect linens for stains, damage, and correct labelling; manage repairs and replacements; minimize loss.
Track and report operational metrics (productivity, throughput, cost per pound, linen loss).
Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with facilities/technicians; maintain equipment logs.
Maintain accurate records: production logs, chemical usage, temperature logs (where required), and compliance paperwork.
Liaise with other departments (housekeeping, clinical managers, operations) and external vendors.
