Painter

Inspect and prepare surfaces (cleaning, scraping, sanding, filling, priming).
Select and mix paints, stains, solvents and other finishes to customer specifications.
Mask and protect non-painted surfaces (taping, drop cloths, plastic).
Apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment; apply specialty finishes as needed.
Operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and pressure washers safely.
Make accurate material estimates and prepare job bids or assist foreperson with estimates.
Perform touch-ups, clean-up, and disposal of waste/leftover materials per regulations.

 Required Skills  includes;  Formal: Apprenticeship, vocational training, or on-the-job experience (many painters learn as apprentices or helpers).
Practical skills: surface prep, brushing/rolling/spraying techniques, color matching, reading work orders/blueprints.
Physical: stamina, balance, ability to work at heights, manual dexterity.
Soft skills: attention to detail, reliability, time-management, customer service.
