Machine Operator

Key duties and responsibilities

Inspect the machine before start-up; clean it, check guards and safety devices, calibrate settings, and confirm that tools or change parts are correctly fitted.
Load raw materials, components, labels, packaging, or other inputs into the equipment.
Start, operate, and continuously monitor the machine during production.
Adjust settings such as speed, pressure, temperature, alignment, feed rate, or timing within authorised operating limits.
Watch for alarms, jams, leaks, unusual vibrations, excessive waste, poor-quality output, and other operating problems.
Inspect products during and after production using visual checks and measuring tools such as rulers, gauges, calipers, micrometers, or weighing scales where applicable.
