Core Responsibilities:
Preventive maintenance — scheduled inspections, lubrication, calibration, and part replacement to prevent breakdowns
Corrective/reactive maintenance — diagnosing and repairing equipment failures quickly to minimize downtime
Installation and commissioning — setting up new machinery or systems and ensuring they run to specification
Troubleshooting — using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to identify root causes of faults
Record keeping — maintaining logs of repairs, inspections, spare parts usage, and maintenance schedules (often via a CMMS — Computerized Maintenance Management System)
