Safety Manager – Job Overview
Core Purpose: Safety Managers develop, implement, and oversee policies and programs that protect employees, the public, and the environment from workplace hazards, while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Policy Development – Create, update, and enforce workplace safety policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Risk Assessment – Identify potential hazards through site inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs); assess risk levels and recommend controls.
Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to OSHA (or equivalent national/regional bodies), environmental regulations, and industry-specific safety standards.
Incident Investigation – Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and injuries; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Training & Education – Design and deliver safety training programs (e.g., PPE use, hazardous materials handling, emergency response, fire safety).
Documentation & Reporting – Maintain safety records, incident logs, compliance reports, and submit required filings to regulatory agencies.
