Security Officer

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Patrolling buildings, grounds, or sites (on foot or by vehicle) to check for security breaches, safety hazards, unlocked doors/windows, or unauthorized activity.
Access control — verifying IDs, issuing visitor badges, managing entrances/exits, and preventing unauthorized entry.
Surveillance — monitoring CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment; investigating unusual activity.
Incident and emergency response — handling alarms, medical emergencies (often providing basic first aid/CPR), fires, disturbances, trespassers, or other threats; coordinating with police, fire, or medical services when needed.
Reporting and documentation — writing daily activity logs, incident reports, and notes on irregularities (theft, damage, policy violations).
