Crane Operator

Core responsibilities:

Operate assigned crane(s) safely and efficiently according to load charts, manufacturer limits and lift plans.
Set up, level and rig the crane and load as required for each lift; install outriggers, mats, blocks, or taglines as needed.
Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, rigging plans and lift diagrams; calculate load weights and center-of-gravity.
Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections; document defects and tag out unsafe equipment; coordinate maintenance/repairs.
Work with riggers, signal persons/spots, supervisors and engineers to plan and execute lifts; follow hand signals and radio communications.
Follow site-specific safety procedures, permits (e.g., confined space, hot work), and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate logbooks and records (hours, maintenance, inspections, lift logs).
