Crane Operator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Determining load weights and checking them against the crane’s lifting capacity and load charts to prevent overloads.
Setting up, operating, and taking down cranes; moving levers, pedals, or dials to lift, swing, lower, and precisely place loads.
Communicating closely with signal persons, riggers, and ground crews via hand signals, radios, or other methods; following lift plans.
Monitoring weather, site conditions, and hazards (wind, clearances, personnel movement) and adjusting operations accordingly.
Performing minor maintenance/repairs, lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and logging activities, inspections, and loads.
Coordinating with supervisors on schedules, reading blueprints/plans when needed, and sometimes supervising oilers, apprentices, or assistants.

Requirements includes, High school diploma or equivalent, strong hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, critical thinking, communication, and ability to work under pressure while following strict protocols.
